New Article: Kanye West's "Stronger" Chosen Best Song For Workout

Thursday, April 7, 2011

Kanye West's "Stronger" has knocked out the "Rocky" theme as the greatest workout song of all time.

So says Gold's Gym, which polled it's customers and fitness-minded celebrities for the best music to pump up those pecs.

"I was thrilled to hear that 'Stronger' won the March Music Madness Bracket Challenge," said Giants great Michael Strahan. "The song brings back great memories of Super Bowl XLII and is still on my iPod everyday in the gym."

The Giants hit the field to "Stronger" enroute to a 17-14 upset victory over the New England Patriots.

"Gonna Fly Now," which was made famous by the Sylvester Stallone movie about boxer Rocky Balboa, was a contender.

So was the Technotronic hite "Pump Up the Jam," a fave of Will Ferrell.

Brooke Shields nominated "Hot Blooded" by Foreigner.

Pro skateboarder Ryan Sheckler picked "KickStart my Heart" by Motley Crue.

And volleyball-playing vixen Gabrille Reece works up a sweat to "B.O.B." by Outkast.

Gold's Gym said they staged the competition to put an end to the age-old debate about what song really is the best for working out. Some 20,000 votes were logged.

The top four vote-getters included Eminem's "Lose Yourself," the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" and Guns N' Roses "Welcome to The Jungle."

There was no word on how well Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" fared in the voting.
